Our Story

Michel and Maria met on a dating app in 2018. As it turned out, it also matches people with the same birthday: 2nd of February, four years apart. Michel assumed Maria was joking when she told him. She was not.

They spent the evening walking around Heerlen looking at street murals. Maria had just finished her Masters in Arts and Heritage and had a lot to say about them. Then drinks, and more drinks, and somewhere in between they missed the concert they had bought tickets for. A first kiss, a walk to the train station, and Maria was back on the train to Maastricht.

Not long after, Michel packed his large apartment into storage and moved into Maria's tiny studio. Then a bigger rental. Then a house of their own. And somewhere along the way, luck would strike and bring Arya into their life.

Getting here

Travel

Step 1Fly to Thessaloniki

The closest airport to the venue is Thessaloniki Makedonia Airport (SKG), about 75 km and one hour from Gyalos Resort. Most guests will fly from one of these airports:

~75 km · ~1 hour from the venue
Step 2Getting to the venue

From Thessaloniki Airport, you have a few options to reach Korinos:

Rent a car
All major rental companies are available at SKG airport. Recommended if you plan to explore the area or arrive at your own pace. The drive to Korinos takes about an hour on the E75 motorway.
Pre-book a transfer
Private taxi or transfer services can be booked online in advance. Expect to pay around €70–90 for a car. Comfortable option for families.
Taxi at the airport
Taxis are available outside arrivals. Ask for Korinos or Gyalos Resort. Roughly €70–90, about 1 hour.
Alt.Driving from the Netherlands or Germany

The drive is roughly 2,000 km and takes around 20 hours. We'd recommend splitting it over two days. A common route goes through Germany, Austria, and along the Adriatic coast via Slovenia and Croatia, with an overnight stop in Belgrade or Skopje.
